IONIT begins campaign to help Local Governments to achieve their Cost Saving Targets
Since the publishing of the Pre-Budget Report in November 2008 everyone has been aware of Alistair Darling's plans to create an additional £5bn of savings from Local Government expenditure by 2011. The Local Government entities have in turn responded with their three year budget plans to outline how they will accomplish these savings.
Having reviewed a number of council budget plans for 2009-2012, James Messenger, Sales Manager at IONIT comments:
"There seems to be an alarming amount of cost pressures arising from council property, which is restricting the public sector from meeting their cost saving targets."
"It's natural that the same problems affecting the private sector are also reflected in the public sector given the current climate of low demand for commercial premises, large periods of rental voids, high cost property maintenance and ongoing health and safety issue resolution."
IONIT has been conducting a series of consultation meetings with councils to discuss our web-based Property Management software solution, Property-I, which can give an organisation better visibility of their property assets and allow senior management to make clearer, more informed decisions, with greater ease and speed. It is functionally rich, and can be customised to meet their exact requirements and objectives.
"During our consultation meetings, it was obvious that consolidation was a common strategy and councils were looking for innovative ways to reduce the size of their property portfolio whilst maintaining the productivity of their employees" added Abdul Akram, Sales Executive.
IONIT is currently in discussion with a number of councils offering assistance in how to achieve Business Transformation Objectives for Flexible Working.
Chander Vasdev, Managing Director at IONIT announced "As a bespoke software development company, we are in an ideal position to use our experience in delivering applications to help these Councils"
He added "Our track record of delivering projects on time and in budget makes IONIT an attractive proposition for overwhelmed IT managers and Finance Directors trying to make big changes with not so big budgets."
